Health Benefits
Good for you—literally!
The Standard American Diet is beloved for its hamburgers (red meat) and fries (fat), donuts (refined flour and sugar) and milk (dairy), soda pop (sugar again) and processed everything. It's no wonder that, when this onslaught enters our system, we become clogged, lethargic blobs in search of sofas.
We are indeed what we eat: According to the National Center for Health Statistics, eight out of the 10 leading causes of death in the United States are diet-related. Go figure. Health is the byproduct of healthy cells, and cells require oxygen and nutrients to thrive. Oxygen cleans the blood. The bloodstream, routed as it is through the entire body, will either have a polluting, sickening effect or a life-sustaining one.
Raw food supports the latter. Water-rich as they are, raw foods naturally help you flush out toxins. Vegetables and fruits top the list in terms of water content, and that H2O remains best intact in their raw form. If water promotes "out with the old," oxygen supports "in with the new." Raw food being more oxygenated, it provides the goods needed to construct healthy, new cells.
Such is how healing can happen and health be maintained. Fed the right fuel, the body wants to—and can—prevent and even conquer candida, fibromyalgia, cancer, food allergies, mood disorders and other chronic conditions. That knowledge is enough to make anyone feel better.
